Vincent wrote an excellent review on the PamFax service. The review was published end of May, right after we upgraded our platform to PamFax3. At the time the review was written we were still sorting out some technical post-migration issues.
Vincent mentions that the PamFax service has variable speed, this is something I’d like to clarify. After the lauch of PamFax3 we indeed had some performance issues, but these were related to the new hardware environment in which PamFax3 operated. As a result we did not see the anticipated performance stability compared to PamFax2.
This issue was quickly resolved and we have since not had any performance issues, fax delivery is fast and reliable.
We are also looking at how we can improve our online communication strategy and extend it beyond the occasional product announcement. Point taken!
We’d like to thank Vincent for his review and, especially as he is a web designer, for the positive feedback on the user interface and usability.

With great pride we announce the new PamFax Developer Program.
Based on the PamFax3 technology we now have an API available so you can integrate all the PamFax features into your solution. Our own solutions also use the same API.
Usage of the API and the development environment is completely free of charge.
Applying for API access is very simple and is done on the developer page linked below. Once your application has been received, we give you access credentials to the sandbox environment. You have access to the documentation, can look at sample code and start the PamFax integration.
We have created a nice logo which you can use in your solution and marketing programs.
Further (technical and commercial) information and how to apply is written on the developer page at http://developer.pamfax.com.

Today we fixed a bug which affected those who were trying to send a one page fax using the built in cover page.
Customers who were trying to send a cover page only would see a “Delivery Failed” message and the fax was not delivered.
Our sincere apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused you.

The team is still working on ironing out left overs from the update. Although we have tested everything in an offline environment, going live with it usually uncovers new areas of improvement.
We have now fixed the last issues with our shop system. You may have noticed that purchasing was partially not possible – this was caused by changes on the cluster regarding the https used for the shop.
The other main area we are now working on is increasing the performance of the cluster system. Jointly with the hosting company we are going to improve speed. We are not satisfied with the performance, it takes too long to load certain pages. This is annoying and will be fixed with high priority.
Other then that we have resolved the issues present right after we went live with PamFax3 and are seeing that the platform is performing really well with processing fax jobs. As I wrote in an earlier post, the fax delivery performance was one of the main goals that led to the new architecture of PamFax3 – and it is clear that our team has done their homework correctly!

As you have noticed we have done the update. Well, it is actually more than an update, its more a complete new version. The servers are new and also the software is completely new.
And as usual with such updates there is a lot of cleanup to do after the actual update has been completed. We are now in the process of doing this so please accept my appologies for any issues that are still there.
The team is working on improving the performance of the servers, there is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Another issue we are aware of is that the PamFax Windows application may show only a small window when starting PamFax. The team have identified the cause and are working on getting this fixed asap. As a workaround please login to the PamFax Portal and send your faxes from there.
Thank you everyone for your patience as we finish the cleanup of this new version.

We recently did a complete revision of our Chinese simplified and traditional language in PamFax. So this was a good time to start finding more customers in Taiwan. As a result, PC Home (Skype distributor in Taiwan) have started a focussed marketing campaign to promote PamFax to their Skype user base.
The promotion started on March 1st. The PamFax ads will be present on their Skype Business pages and also in the partner tab of the PC Home version of the Skype application.
An example of the website ad below.

We recently joined the McAfee Secure Site program which already includes many large and well known websites. McAfee ensures that our entire webservice offering is secure and safe. In future McAfee ensures this stays secure by conducting daily scans of our entire service.
After the first scan of the PamFax website we were able to add the McAfee logo to the PamFax website.

Today we added the logo to our PamFax website at www.pamfax.biz and on Monday latest the Pamela website at www.pamela.biz will also show the logo (the scans have been completed and nothing major was found – but hey it’s Friday).
The good news is that both our sites showed no major security flaws which could have impacted the users privacy.

Skype have recently announced that Skype Credit will be phased out in partner applications. This effects the Windows users of PamFax. On December 11, 2009 Skype will shut down Skype Credit payments in any application which uses this. Any (with Skype Credit) purchased PamFax Credit will obviously remain in your account.
As a concequence we will be switching over to an alternative “Pay As You Go” offer which will allow occasional PamFax users to still use PamFax “On Demand” without needing to buy a monthly plan. The minimum initial credit purchase will be €5 (Skype Credit was €0,99). The reason for the €5 amount is the cost associated with processing smaller amounts.
The good news is that PamFax is still the only product which allows you to send faxes by just paying a small pre-load amount.
This update will be done server side and will not require a PamFax update on your computer.
