We just released a new Pamela version for everyone to test. Pamela 4.7 does not have significant new features (besides the polish here and there), but mainly fixes a few annoying issues and improves stability.
We updated the core recording engine with a much more stable one. We fixed issues with the Emotion Player which annoyed some of you and solved the bug that the recording would stop as soon as you added someone to a conference call.
These are just a few of the many things we fixed. Give Pamela Pro a try by downloading from our home page.
We want to know what you think and would like to ask you to give feedback by answering a short survey.

Today we released an update to the PamFax server platform and the downloadable applications.
Since the launch on May 17th we have been closely monitoring the system. We have done a few hotfixes since then and today released a bigger update addressing some things we’ve noticed the past 9 weeks.
As the updates are server side there is no action required, you will benefit from the changes automatically. On the application side there are two issues which might affect you. If you have these issues you should download PamFax and re-install as this time we do not auto update every user.
In the local application we fixed the following issues:
- fax.exe crashes after sending a fax with PamFax printer
- Fixed issue when a temporary file is corrupt this results in mini window at start of PamFax
On the server side we have made the following changes:
- Further improved performance with fax sending
- Removed flash uploader module. New module is HTML5 or HTML based to address compatibility issues
- Clicking on “Details” in sent fax history would occasionally not show anything
- Fixed an issue where the sent fax preview is not shown in the detail view of a fax
- Added a function and made two fixes to the PamFax API
- Several minor issues and stability fixes
The current server version is 3.0.3.x and the clients all are 3.0.x.2 – so when you use PamFax you will now see 3.0.3.2 as version number.

Our hosting partner has done extensive research as to why the PamFax website and application is loading so sluggish, uploaded documents errored out and downloads/upgrades were partially incomplete.
As it turnes out one of the load balancer boxes (a hardware based lb) had a malfunction and this resulted in all these problems. Funny enough the logs of the load balancer did not show any irregularities. We’ve been switched over to another system and since then PamFax seems to work really well – as originally designed to do so!
The entire team wants to apologize for this issue as we know users were effected and could not send important documents. We worked hard to iron this one out as soon as we could.
We are now confident things are (yes, really are) back up and running. Thanks for your understanding in hanging in there with us.

We published an update to the Pamela website (www.pamela.biz). We made some changes on the download page and improved some of the navigation.
We also thought it was time to integrate the website of Pamela Call Recorder into the main Pamela website. Pamela Call Recorder has now replaced Pamela Standard which is no longer available. The reason is that we feel that Pamela Call Recorder is much better value for your money than Pamela Standard.
All existing customer will be able to continue to use Pamela Standard and when we launch 5.0 we will provide an upgrade path.

Recently Skype upgraded their shop platform. This upgrade was done in phases and the initial launch in USA did not include the many interesting Skype add-on applications (called extras).
Now Skype have completed the renovation and put the new catalogue live. There are now a total of four application categories:

Of our products the following are listed:

Today we released the second hotfix for Pamela. This update includes the following:
Feature: Added WMA support so audio recordings can be in WMA format
Bugfix: Pamela 4.6.0.28 does not always recognize active call
Bugfix: Automatic inbound/outbound recording not reliably working
Bugfix: Memory usage optimizations in audio recording
Bugfix: On Windows 7 Pamela did not register MP3 correcty
Bugfix: Resolved potential crash situations
Bugfix: Video recording optimizations
Change: Improved error message texts
Change: Added a default setting for proxy ports
Change: Auto Skype Mood and Status change is now disabled by default
We made corrections for Windows 7 and also disabled by default the feature to change the Skype Mood and Status during a call. It seemed that Pamela was not always receiving the information that the call had ended and thus Pamela was not able to change the Mood and Status back to what it was before. We assume that Windows Messaging (the communication channel used by Skype API) is responsible for this. We are looking at how to resolve this with some changes.
Besides stability fixes in various areas, this hotfix also adds a new feature which is support for Windows Media Audio format (WMA). In case where you don’t want to use MP3 you can set Pamela to record in WMA format which is also compressed and easy to handle.
You can upgrade for free by downloading the latest version. Just open Pamela and click on “Help” and then “Check for update”. Download and run the installer which will upgrade your Pamela to the latest version.
