Today we released a small update to Pamela for Skype. We have had excellent results regarding the application stability and there were no more things to fix there. We improved the memory usage a bit and streamlined a bit of code.

We also made a small change in the video options.

The orange area shows where we made the changes. In the previous version you had to click a second time to select the option, this caused confusion (which we received as feedback via our helpdesk, thank you for this). Now as soon as you select an option, it is set correctly so that you just need to hit “Apply” or “OK”.

Updating is optional and you can do this by opening Pamela, clicking on “Help” and then “Check for update”. Download the new file and run it. This will then automatically update Pamela to the latest version.

We hope you like our first release in 2012 and look forward to hearing how we can further improve Pamela.

Yes, we released some more updates. This time for PamFax and also Pamela.

Based on user feedback we updated our PamFax for Windows installer. In those cases where the installer was not able to download server components, users were shown a message but no direct solution. As a result we updated the installer which will now fall back to directly offering you the full PamFax installation package in case of failure.

Pamela was also updated to 4.8.0.68. This update affects all Pamela versions as well as Pamela Call Recorder. The following changes were done:

Bugfix: Resolved a rare crash when quitting Pamela (all versions)
Bugfix: PCR did not always recognize incoming Skype calls correctly
Bugfix: Pamela (all versions) sometimes would not reconnect to Skype after resuming the PC from standby
Change: Updated German and Ukrainian translations
Change: Updated Libyan flag (apologies this took so long…)

For all Pamela users the update is free. To check if you have the latest version, open the Pamela application and click on the “Help” menu and then “Check for update”. If it tells you there is a new version, download and run the setup. There is no need to uninstall the current version before updating.

We hope you like our work and as always appreciate your feedback.

Today we released an update for Pamela and Pamela Call Recorder. This is a bugfix update where we solved a total of four possible application crash situations. I suggest everyone to update to benefit from the increased stability.

Updating is free for everyone, paying or non-paying customers. Updating is really easy and only takes a moment. Open Pamela and click on the “Help” menu and then “Check for update”. Download the new version and start the setup. The rest is automatic.

There is definitely also another reason to update. If you are a Pamela Basic or Pamela Call Recorder user, you can record Skype Audio but as a new feature you will now be able to record Skype Video up to 5 minutes per call!

If you feel this is not enough time you can purchase a license for Pamela Call Recorder and remove this limitation or upgrade to Pamela Pro and enjoy even more features.

I hope you like the new version. Enjoy!

mceWeather has just been updated. We added compatibility with Windows 64bit Media Center.

Weather.com have recently changed their API access to paid subscriptions. As a result we decided to remove weather.com as our primary data provider.

Unfortunately there is no more free weather data from weather.com. But as we wanted to keep mceWeather free, we just removed weather.com and will continue to offer the reliable weather data from wetter.com.

The next time you start mceWeather, it will convert all your cities from weather.com to wetter.com. In rare cases, you will need to add your city again.

Download the latest version of mceWeather from the Jaast download page.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve just released a new PamFax update.

Based on feedback we have worked hard on improving the overall system performance. PamFax was not always as quick in starting up as our customers would like to see. This was specifically noticeable in areas further away from our server clusters.

We made some significant performance improvements in all local applications. You will notice that PamFax starts up a lot quicker than before and that also the screen appear much quicker. This is also the case if you use the PamFax Portal via our website for sending.

We further improved the API commands and did a lot of work to increase the overall stability and API performance. In addition we fixed a few technical issues.

Our coverage in Germany has increased. PamFax now offer national numbers in Germany which require an address from anywhere in the territory of Germany.

Note that this update focuses primarily on providing you a more quicker and snappier user interface. The fax sending itself we are unable to speed up as this relies on many factors.

This update is mandatory for all PamFax for Windows, OS X and Linux users. You will be automatically notified of the new version when you start PamFax.

Last but not least we’ve updated our entire range of mobile applications. These now benefit from the improved performance. The applications updated are PamFax for Android, iPad/iPhone and webOS. You will be informed via the device as soon as the updates are available.

We hope you find the update valuable and as always are more than happy to hear from you what we can do better!
