Get a Pamela Pro license for free with TrialPay

Yesterday we’ve launched a TrialPay option to the Pamela website shop pages. TrialPay is being offered by many companies like LavaSoft, AVG, Avira, Real, etc. etc.

TrialPay is the only payment method that lets you get a free product with every purchase. Try or buy one offer from name brands and get your original product for free. For example, you can get movie tickets for free when you send flowers, buy clothes, sign up for a DVD rental service and more. TrialPay uses money from the advertiser to pay for your free product.

You can also get great deals with TrialPay’s purchase incentives. For instance, you can get a $20 coupon from a name brand company just by signing up for a weight loss service. Or, spend $50 on clothing at a retailer and get a $25 restaurant gift certificate.

You will get Pamela Professional (worth €19,95) for free when you try or buy an offer from one of the 7,500 TrialPay partners. The advertising partner you transact with pays for your free product. For example, you could get a full license to a software product for free by buying clothes from one of a retail partners—and the retailer will pay the software company for the license.

The terms of each offer vary from totally free to paid or subscription services. Regardless of the offer terms, your initial product and the TrialPay transaction are always totally free. And TrialPay’s customer support is free, too.

Pamela for Skype – hotfix3 released

On Friday the 13th (yeah, what a date!), we released updated version of the Pamela for Skype products. Based on feedback collected as well as crash reports we were able to further decrease the application crash rate.

The changes are:

Bugfix: Improvements in call start/stop detection
Bugfix: Playing large MP3 files in Emotion Player could crash Pamela
Bugfix: Adding certain MP3 files to Emotion Player crashes Pamela – added improved MP3 file type compatibility
Bugfix: When installing Pamela on Windows2000, MP3 and WMA formats are disabled for compatibility reasons
Bugfix: Resolved more potential crash situations

Pamela for Skype v4.6 Hotfix 2 released

Today we released the second hotfix for Pamela. This update includes the following:

Feature: Added WMA support so audio recordings can be in WMA format
Bugfix: Pamela 4.6.0.28 does not always recognize active call
Bugfix: Automatic inbound/outbound recording not reliably working
Bugfix: Memory usage optimizations in audio recording
Bugfix: On Windows 7 Pamela did not register MP3 correcty
Bugfix: Resolved potential crash situations
Bugfix: Video recording optimizations
Change: Improved error message texts
Change: Added a default setting for proxy ports
Change: Auto Skype Mood and Status change is now disabled by default

We made corrections for Windows 7 and also disabled by default the feature to change the Skype Mood and Status during a call. It seemed that Pamela was not always receiving the information that the call had ended and thus Pamela was not able to change the Mood and Status back to what it was before. We assume that Windows Messaging (the communication channel used by Skype API) is responsible for this. We are looking at how to resolve this with some changes.

Besides stability fixes in various areas, this hotfix also adds a new feature which is support for Windows Media Audio format (WMA). In case where you don’t want to use MP3 you can set Pamela to record in WMA format which is also compressed and easy to handle.

You can upgrade for free by downloading the latest version. Just open Pamela and click on “Help” and then “Check for update”. Download and run the installer which will upgrade your Pamela to the latest version.
