Recently Skype upgraded their shop platform. This upgrade was done in phases and the initial launch in USA did not include the many interesting Skype add-on applications (called extras).
Now Skype have completed the renovation and put the new catalogue live. There are now a total of four application categories:
Of our products the following are listed:

The new year at PamConsult starts with a new employee: Dennis. As this is the second Dennis in our team, we have to figure out how to distinguish them both
Dennis formerly worked for companies like German Telecom. He will do customer support and administration of our company’s infrastructure from our development office in Ebstorf, Germany.
Welcome in our team!
The entire team at PamConsult wishes everyone a healthy, peaceful and successful new year. We enjoyed 2009 a lot, thank you for your trust in our services and are looking forward to 2010 with a lot of new things.
I know the word “Christmasnized” does not exist, but it seemed to me the simplest and shortest description of what happened today
.
The team has updated the websites of PamFax and Pamela with some Christmas dressing. The holiday season is approaching fast, so here you go. I hope you like the updated header and footer (scroll down the page!).
Today we have upgraded our company website www.pamconsult.com to a complete new design:
This new design fits into our CI that we are applying to all our websites. We hope that every user feels “like home” and knows how to use it when he gets to one of our websites when they all look similar and all navigation elements are at the same place.
Do you like it? Leave a comment…
I’m sure this went mostly unnoticed as Skype 4.x does not show the online users that predominantly anymore – but Skype exceeded the 20 million online users mark a few days ago.
Congratulations to Skype for this achievement (I’m sure many millions will follow!).
Jean-Mercier has an interesting blog site where he grinds the numbers on Skype. You will find information about the online user growth, analysis on the quarterly results numbers and much more. Definitely worth taking a look at http://skypenumerology.blogspot.com
I am proud to announce that we have finally finished our office renovation of the development headquarter in Ebstorf, Germany. Nearly everything is in place again so that we are 100% operational again and can now concentrate on our projects again without being disturbed by the painters or a loud saw etc.
Have a look:
We recently joined the McAfee Secure Site program which already includes many large and well known websites. McAfee ensures that our entire webservice offering is secure and safe. In future McAfee ensures this stays secure by conducting daily scans of our entire service.
After the first scan of the PamFax website we were able to add the McAfee logo to the PamFax website.
Today we added the logo to our PamFax website at www.pamfax.biz and on Monday latest the Pamela website at www.pamela.biz will also show the logo (the scans have been completed and nothing major was found – but hey it’s Friday).
The good news is that both our sites showed no major security flaws which could have impacted the users privacy.
At noon yesterday (Friday), we suddenly had a power outage in the whole office. The fuse always jumped out when we turned on more then 3 PCs or servers. As the painters are still working on painting the rooms, we first suspected them to have done something wrong. But they didn’t. After 2 hours searching for the problem, the electrician arrived and started searching for the problem. All employees went home as there was no work without any power.
At that point you really get hit hard by reality again and that you can’t do anything in our job without internet and power.
After another 2 hours, the electrician found the problem: a new lamp that was just attached the day before in the corridor had some cabling issues that only came out now as the lamp was switched on the whole day and got warm. If we would have not had this lamp on for so long, this problem might have never occurred!
So the guy who attached this lamp will get fired immediately! I will check twice when attaching the next lamp so such a thing could not happen again.
Yes, redecorating the offices can be a fun thing…
