Mandatory updates PamFax iPhone and Android

We have recently released updated versions of PamFax for iPhone (v1.0.1) and Android (v2.0.2). Please note that we have disabled the access to our system from older versions due to changes in the server backend.

So, if you have not yet updated to the latest PamFax version for iPhone or Android you should do so before using PamFax. PamFax can be easily updated directly from your iPhone or Android device.

PamFax updated

We just released a PamFax update. This is an “increase performance and fix minor issues” update. We fixed some issues with the PamFax API, improved the processing of larger fax quantities and ironed out minor annoyances.

If you have PamFax installed on your computer there is no update required as all changes are on the servers.

For our next release we will focus on adding new and exciting features :) .

Apologies for the short outage as we did the update today. We hope you like the improved performance and as always welcome your feedback.

Long awaited “Skype for Salesforce” update available

It has been a few years since we last updated the Skype for Salesforce solution.

This free Skype application provides seamless Skype integration into Salesforce application.

Skype for Salesforce offers you full Skype functionality in your Salesforce screen. You will see the online status of your Skype contacts, you will be able to call them with one click and also receive calls. For received calls with caller ID, Salesforce automatically retrieves the record of that person so you are prepared when you take the call.

You may also import your Skype contact list. This allows for easy Skype calling from Salesforce.

Conference calls are also supported and allow you to easily, directly from Salesforce, start a conference call with a few clicks.

New in the 2.1 version are

  • Support for Firefox browser added
  • Skype call transfer support added

Besides we fixed several technical issues which appeared over time.

More information and download on AppExchange at Salesforce.com.

We hope you enjoy the update and as always appreciate your feedback.

PamFax website supports IE9 pinning feature

We have updated the PamFax website to support the pinning feature available in the upcoming Internet Explorer 9 release (scheduled March 14, 2011).

‘Pinning’ is a new feature in Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 that allows web developers to create additional features straight into the Windows 7 superbar. Windows 7 users can pin sites to the superbar and easily access their favorite sites. Web developers can also include notification features and contextual menus.

Above you can see the links set by the PamFax website – you will be able to access the key functions directly from the Windows 7 superbar.

The home page will also look more customized with our logo in the top and adapted color schema.

Download is free, use your existing PamFax user name to login.

PamFax partners with Tropo

PamFax recently started a partnership with Tropo. Tropo is a powerful yet simple API that adds Voice, SMS, Twitter, and IM (and now fax too) support to the programming languages you already know. Tropo runs on the Voxeo platform.

The folks over at Tropo have created a Ruby gem called pamfaxr and posted a few examples which show how easy it is to use fax in Tropo. There is also a cool video which shows how you can send a fax with your voice!

Click here for more information on the example and links to the sources.

We are super excited about this partnership which will allow for some very cool solutions. Hope you find the Tropo stuff interesting, definitely read the blog post and check out the stuff on GitHub.

As always, let us know what you think.

PamFax updated with new features and improvements

We have updated the PamFax system and added a few new things to further enhance your faxing experience.

A total of 80 fixes and improvements were made. Most of them are server side and thus do not require you to re-install PamFax. We do recommend a manual update if you use the PamFax for Outlook add-on (Windows application only).

The detailed list of changes are as follows.

Bugfix: Implemented fixes for Internet Explorer when viewing PamFax Portal
Bugfix: Users in Canada see currency formatted correctly and the correct country flag when entering a fax number
Bugfix: Updated version of PamFax for Outlook (crash and workflow fixes)
Bugfix: Updated Windows Gadget to address memory leak issue
Bugfix: Occasional endless “preparing preview” dialog
Bugfix: Occasional hanging wizard screens at various steps
Feature: New fax number users receive a test fax to their inbox after the number has been activated (English language users only at this time)
Feature: Added a monthly summary report to the PamFax Manager
Feature: Users with fax number can now activate auto upload incoming faxes to Dropbox, Box.net or Google Docs
Feature: New installer for Windows with simplified installation process

In addition to the above we fixed many user interface related issues.

Should you want to update to the latest PamFax for Windows version, please download it from our website. The only reason we recommend you to update is if you are using PamFax for Outlook as well.

The by far coolest feature we added is auto-upload all your incoming incoming faxes to your PamFax number to an online cloud storage provider. With this update we now provide true bi-directional document exchange! You can activate the options in the PamFax Portal under the menu “My Faxes” and “Backup”.

As always we are looking forward to hearing your feedback and suggestions how we can further improve PamFax.
