Today we released a small update to Pamela for Skype. We have had excellent results regarding the application stability and there were no more things to fix there. We improved the memory usage a bit and streamlined a bit of code.
We also made a small change in the video options.

The orange area shows where we made the changes. In the previous version you had to click a second time to select the option, this caused confusion (which we received as feedback via our helpdesk, thank you for this). Now as soon as you select an option, it is set correctly so that you just need to hit “Apply” or “OK”.
Updating is optional and you can do this by opening Pamela, clicking on “Help” and then “Check for update”. Download the new file and run it. This will then automatically update Pamela to the latest version.
We hope you like our first release in 2012 and look forward to hearing how we can further improve Pamela.

Yes, we released some more updates. This time for PamFax and also Pamela.
Based on user feedback we updated our PamFax for Windows installer. In those cases where the installer was not able to download server components, users were shown a message but no direct solution. As a result we updated the installer which will now fall back to directly offering you the full PamFax installation package in case of failure.
Pamela was also updated to 4.8.0.68. This update affects all Pamela versions as well as Pamela Call Recorder. The following changes were done:
Bugfix: Resolved a rare crash when quitting Pamela (all versions)
Bugfix: PCR did not always recognize incoming Skype calls correctly
Bugfix: Pamela (all versions) sometimes would not reconnect to Skype after resuming the PC from standby
Change: Updated German and Ukrainian translations
Change: Updated Libyan flag (apologies this took so long…)
For all Pamela users the update is free. To check if you have the latest version, open the Pamela application and click on the “Help” menu and then “Check for update”. If it tells you there is a new version, download and run the setup. There is no need to uninstall the current version before updating.
We hope you like our work and as always appreciate your feedback.

Today we released an update for Pamela and Pamela Call Recorder. This is a bugfix update where we solved a total of four possible application crash situations. I suggest everyone to update to benefit from the increased stability.
Updating is free for everyone, paying or non-paying customers. Updating is really easy and only takes a moment. Open Pamela and click on the “Help” menu and then “Check for update”. Download the new version and start the setup. The rest is automatic.
There is definitely also another reason to update. If you are a Pamela Basic or Pamela Call Recorder user, you can record Skype Audio but as a new feature you will now be able to record Skype Video up to 5 minutes per call!
If you feel this is not enough time you can purchase a license for Pamela Call Recorder and remove this limitation or upgrade to Pamela Pro and enjoy even more features.
I hope you like the new version. Enjoy!

Jonathan Sweemer built a very nice PamFax Python library based on the things our friends over at Tropo did with PamFax. Pretty cool stuff, check it out here.

It is time for another update. We needed to fix an issue with email forwarding in SSL environments and also an issue where the voicemail greeting file would repeat the last second.
In addition we added Ukranian language support. Many thanks for this to Bodgan Donchura.
Every Pamela user is entitled to a free upgrade. To update open Pamela and click on “Help” and then “Check for update”. Download the setup and then start it. The setup will automatically update the installed Pamela version and retain all your data and settings.
We hope you find the improvements helpful.

Today we released an updated version of the Rich Mood Editor for Skype. The new version is 2.1.0.1.
We released this version to fix the compatibility with Skype 5.3 and 5.5 without Extras Manager. The previous version of Rich Mood Editor required a library called Skype4COM which was removed from the Skype application after Skype removed the Extras Manager.
As a result any installed version of Rich Mood Editor stopped working. We have changed this in the new version, which is now no longer dependent on Skype4COM.
To rectify the problem, download and install the new version.
RME is freeware. Enjoy!

Yeah, yeah, busy times here with another small update. We’re doing our best to address some issues which cropped up the past months by providing more frequent updates.
Having said that, this is the last 4.7 version we will have before we move to 4.8. There will not be many changes in 4.8, the major change is a complete clean up of the personalization module. This module was built a few years ago and we have learned a few things which we will change now to make this function work better.
In this release we have:
Change: Improved several settings in the options for easier usage
Change: Optimized contact list loading, the status of Skype contacts shown in Pamela is updated a lot quicker
Change: Added a new “Conference call” recording status icon which shows when a conference call was recorded
Change: Removed all wizards from Pamela (personalization, podcasting and blogging)
Bugfix: Column “Call received” did not remember sort state
Bugfix: Cancelling an incoming call with email forwarding active should not show the email forwarding dialog
Bugfix: Fixed a visual bug with displaying SkypeOut status in the personalization view-pane
Bugfix: Unable to click “Apply” when changing logging type in options
Bugfix: Small fixes to application shutdown routines
To update open Pamela and click on “Help” and then “Check for update”. Download the setup and then start it. The setup will automatically update the installed Pamela version and retain all your data and settings.
We hope you find the improvements helpful.
