Changes in the latest PamFax update

As mentioned earlier, we updated PamFax last Monday to a new version. This time we also released an updated local application which requires a re-install. But as always this is done automatically after you start the older version of PamFax.

The changes are separated in server and application changes. The application changes apply to the Windows and Mac version alike.

We hope you enjoy the progress and new stuff we are adding.

Server side changes version 2.0.15

  • Added red close button to dialogs that does not offer buttons like ‘ok’ or ‘cancel’.
  • Added further payment options in client application.
  • Fixed google map on inbox details page.
  • Significant speed improvements in starting and running the PamFax application.
  • Removed the white window on application start (flickering when starting PamFax).
  • Added introduction/welcome dialog to first Portal startup (this was already in the application, now also in the portal).
  • Added OpenID login support (Use OpenID to register a new account or add OpenID to your existing PamFax account).
  • Removed Skype wallet access (payment with Skype Credit). See older post for details why.
  • Fixed issues with document converter (landscape/portrait detection/rotation).
  • Improved Skype chat sending procedure.
  • NEW: You can now give members of the BCP group access to your inbox (none, read, read&delete).  (*
  • Raised the maximum upload file size per file to 20MB.

Local PamFax application changes 2.0.x.17

  • Significant speed improvements.
  • Removed Skype wallet access (payment with Skype Credit). See older post for details why.
  • Added extended MacOSX menu and support for CMD commands.
  • Added ability to navigate PamFax with keyboard.
  • Optimized price warning page.
  • Fixed recommend to a friend page.
  • Added close buttons to dialogs (feedback from usability testing).

*) This is actually a really cool feature. This will enable you to use one central PamFax fax-in number company wide by giving selected and/or all people in the BCP group access to the inbox. This allows you to finally replace that piece of hardware sitting in your office producing CO², costing a phone line, toner/ink, etc. and extend access flexibility – no matter where you are you can check the inbox!
